Kate Allen from East Ardsley was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2021, she supported WF3 Kindness and other community groups and would always support local businesses and the local community. Sadly, Kate passed away recently after a courageous fight which she faced with bravery (and a smile) until the end.

Kate has many friends across our community and was a true inspiration to many, she showed us all that no matter what we may be going through in life there is always a smile to be seen, a joke to be told and a laugh to be heard. 
 

Kate featured in these very awards in 2023, when 'Kate's Mates' won the first ever Kevin Sinfield Award of Friendship and Loyalty for the support that her friends gave to Kate, Craig and the family following her diagnosis. The dedicated and committed group of friends worked together to fundraise and send Kate and her family on a dream camper van holiday to complete the Scottish 500.
